Top 10 Botox Treatment Myths: Busted!

Woman doing liposuction on her face.

Botox is always a topic of debate. Celebrities brought it into the limelight and made it a household topic of discussion. While many people look at the concept of botox with skepticism, botox, when done right, can turn out to be a life savior. Additionally, its anti-aging properties cannot be ignored or disregarded. However, there are plenty of misconceptions and myths that surround this treatment. Let’s understand what these are and go into debunking mode.

#Myth 1. Botox Only Works on Women and Not on Men

One of the most common myths surrounding botox is that it works only on women or in other words, only women can get it done. This is far from the truth. While most women opt for this treatment, botox works for men and women both. This is probably why this treatment is also being called “bro-tox.” More and more men, in their 30s, are opting for this treatment.

In fact, according to research by Statista, the top nonsurgical cosmetic procedure globally for the year 2020 was Botulinum toxin. The research further states that plastic surgeons performed over 6.2 million Botox injections in 2020.

#Myth 2. Botox Can Get Rid of All Kinds of Wrinkles

Another common myth with respect to botox is that it can get rid of any kind of facial wrinkles possible. This is not true. Botox is FDA-cleared to treat key trouble areas such as the brow, the forehead, and the crow’s feet. If you want to even out wrinkles, lines, and folds in the lower portion of your face, go for soft tissue fillers instead.

#Myth 3. Botox Injections End up Freezing the Face

One of the biggest concerns among patients is that it might ‘freeze’ the facial muscles. Granted that botox aims to reduce the repeated muscle contractions that are responsible for wrinkle formation, it doesn’t actually paralyze the face or make it look ‘frozen.’ You do however need to go to an experienced plastic surgeon who can provide the right course of treatment for botox and help with the post-surgery follow-ups as well.

#Myth 4. Botox Is a Time-Consuming Process (In Terms of Duration)

Many people think botox is a long-drawn-out process. On the contrary, botox treatments, unlike other complicated treatments, typically take less than half an hour. The treatment is quick and easy. You won’t have to wait for too long before going back to your daily life.

#Myth 5. The Best Time to Do Botox Is When the Lines Just Start to Appear

Botox works best as a preventative treatment according to experts. Ideally, you should try to get ahead of the game, which will ultimately be more useful in the long run. Waiting till the lines become etched into the skin will only make the botox treatment more complex. In simpler words, smoothening the appearance will become tricky. If you’re wondering about why certain wrinkles and lines appear, sometimes, the root cause is muscle movements such as scowling, raising eyebrows, or squinting.

By engaging in preventive botox, the muscles can actually learn not to make certain expressions and worsen the lines. This will also ensure that you need botox less and less often.

#Myth 6. If You Stop the Botox Treatment, Your Wrinkles Will Worsen

Stopping the botox treatment altogether does not worsen your wrinkles — it simply means that your wrinkles will go back to their original form. While you keep up with the botox treatments, the wrinkles will be maintained and will not worsen. The moment you stop the treatment, the relaxing effect of the botox treatment will be lost, and the original wrinkles will start to reappear with more and more movement (and of course, as you age).

Unknown to many, Botox is not a permanent treatment; its effects last anywhere between three and four months. If you manage to get injected more regularly, over time, the results can last a little longer.

Pro-tip: Even though botox as a preventative measure works swimmingly well, people should wait till they’re 22 before getting the treatment done.

#Myth 7. Botox Is Simply a Cosmetic Procedure

Botox is not done solely for cosmetic purposes. Botox injections can treat migraines by lowering muscle tension and reducing strain on the nervous system. Furthermore, botox can also stop the sweat glands from excessive sweating and boost people’s confidence levels.

#Myth 8. The Positive Effects of Botox Can Be Seen Immediately

People think botox is a one-time treatment, which starts showing positive effects after one sitting. Botox does not provide instant results. The effects are generally gradual and more subtle in nature. You will start seeing noticeable changes after a period of 3-5 days. Complete results should be visible after seven to ten days. This is primarily because botox works on reducing and inhibiting muscle movement, reducing the chances of wrinkles and lines appearing in the long run.

#Myth 9. Botox Is a Permanent Treatment

Contrary to popular opinion, botox is not a permanent fix. This treatment works as long as you keep getting injected. It provides temporary results, anywhere between 3 and 6 months, depending on your skin lines as well as wrinkle appearance. The length of the treatment also depends on the number of times you have received the botox injection.

#Myth 10. Botox Is Dangerous or Unsafe

Finally, most people consider botox to be an unsafe treatment. This is not true. It is a safe treatment and is not toxic for your skin at all.

As the stigma attached to botox fades away, more and more people are embracing this anti-aging injectable. It is essential to speak to your preferred doctor and proceed with a botox treatment. If you’re looking for an experienced team of professionals, get in touch with our team at Drip Med Spa. We can help you make the right choice basis on your skin type, requirements, and general skin-health conditions.

The Benefits Of Using Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT)

A hand, writing out the words Hormone Replacement Therapy.

Hormone replacement treatment (HRT) is a solution that helps people across genders. Men, in particular, see lower levels of testosterone and hormone imbalances as they get older, which leads to lower energy, decreased muscle mass, weight gain, and decreased sex drive. Many men notice significant improvements in testosterone levels with the right treatment, allowing them to live the life they deserve.

Making the decision to start HRT might be challenging. If you’re not sure why you should begin, understanding the benefits may be of assistance. There are several reasons why HRT is preferable to ‘natural’ therapy or no treatment at all.

What is Testosterone?

Testosterone is a hormone that is mostly generated in the testicles. Testosterone aids in the maintenance of:

  • The density of the bones
  • The distribution of fat
  • Muscle mass and strength
  • Hair on the face and on the body
  • Production of red blood cells
  • Sex drive
  • Sperm Production

What Happens to Testosterone Levels with Age?

During adolescence and early adulthood, testosterone levels are at their highest. Your testosterone level decreases with age, generally by around 1% each year beyond the age of 30 or 40. It’s crucial for older men to figure out if a low testosterone level is related to natural aging or an illness (hypogonadism).

Hypogonadism is a condition in which the testicles, or the pituitary gland, which regulates the testicles, cannot generate enough levels of testosterone. Testosterone replacement treatment, which can come in the form of injections, pellets, patches, or gels, can help these men with their low testosterone symptoms.

Hormone Replacement Therapy for Men

Hormone replacement therapy is a well-known treatment for men who have unusually low testosterone levels (testosterone deficiency) and have failed to respond to previous treatments. As a result, this sort of therapy can aid in the improvement of energy levels, libido, and weariness. Other advantages include:

  • Increase the density of your bones
  • Boost your libido and sexual desire.
  • Increase the development of the face and body hair.
  • Stimulate red blood cell production
  • Improve your exercises by encouraging muscular development.
  • Increase your overall energy levels and make you feel less tired.

SupplementaryBenefitormoReement Therapy (HRT) for Men:

Hormone Replacement Therapy is one of the most effective ways to treat low testosterone levels in men. Besides this prominent advantage, HRT offers several other benefits. Hers is what men who went through HRT commonly reported:

Overall cholesterol was reduced.

High cholesterol can build up on artery walls, limiting blood flow and raising the risk of heart attack and stroke. Studies show that lower doses of HRT showed a significant increase in HDL, or good cholesterol, and a decrease in LDL, or bad cholesterol.

Triglycerides have been reduced.

Triglycerides are a form of fat that the body utilizes for energy and are found in the blood in typical amounts. High triglyceride levels, on the other hand, are linked to metabolic syndrome and are a risk factor for heart disease.

Reduced BMI.

The Body Mass Index (BMI) is a proportion of a person’s total weight that measures body fat. A healthy BMI lowers the risk of heart disease and diabetes, osteoarthritis, some malignancies, and even depression and mood disorders.

Reduced Waste.

Most men are genetically prone to carry excess weight in their bellies, resulting in a “potbelly” that commonly develops as they become older. Fat accumulated in the stomach, on the other hand, might accumulate on the liver and pancreas nearby. This suggests that males with a big waist circumference are more likely than women to suffer from heart disease and obesity.

Improved Insulin.

Hypogonadal men with type 2 diabetes benefit from HRT by reducing insulin resistance and improving glycaemic control. By improving glycaemic control, insulin resistance, cholesterol, and visceral adiposity, one can reduce cardiovascular risk.

What Are the Risks of Hormone Replacement Therapy?

Every treatment for every gender has its side effects.

The risks and effectiveness of the treatment are highly affected by the quality of the ingredients used for the therapy, the technology, and the capabilities of the people administering the treatment. HRT causes a number of side effects, including:

  • Sleep apnea is getting worse, which is a potentially dangerous sleep illness in which breathing stops and begins frequently.
  • Acne or other skin reactions.
  • Overstimulation of the red blood cell synthesis, which adds to a higher risk of blood clot formation. A clot might form, move through your circulation, and lodge in your lungs, cutting off the blood supply (pulmonary embolism).

How Effective is HRT as a Treatment?

Hormone replacement therapy (HRT) is one of the most effective ways to treat issues related to low testosterone levels. By utilizing our advanced HRT technology and expert medical staff, you will be able to return to your peak physical and sexual performance in no time.

Is HRT Right for Me?

Hormone Replacement Therapy is a big decision that needs to be given a lot of thought. Having said that, HRT is a great option for men suffering from andropause symptoms. For younger men who have tried other methods without success, this can also be a great option.

However, it is still ideal to discuss treatments with a medical professional, so you can have more clarity and make a better, more informed decision. This is why we encourage you to schedule an appointment with one of our in-house medical specialists.

Conclusion

Despite its side effects and risks, Hormone Replacement Therapy remains the most promising solution for men struggling with low testosterone levels. The therapy not only boosts testosterone but also brings about several supplementary changes in your physiology, making you healthier, more energetic, and happier on all fronts of your life. What to Expect from Your Juvederm Ultra Appointment

A close up of a woman’s face before and after a treatment.

If you are tired of seeing fine lines and wrinkles on your face whenever you look in the mirror, it might be time to contact Drip Med Spa and ask about our Juvederm Ultra treatment. Juvederm Ultra is an incredibly popular treatment that uses FDA-approved injectables to reduce the appearance of creases and facial wrinkles. The procedure is ideal for treating moderate to severe facial wrinkles. While it produces results that last between nine months and one year, the boost in confidence and satisfaction with your appearance goes far beyond that.

While Juvederm Ultra is a very safe and pain-free procedure, it still helps to know what to expect from it. Let’s go over exactly what a Juvederm Ultra treatment is, how you can prepare for it, and what you can expect while you recover from it.

What Is Juvederm?

Juvederm is a line of cosmetic injectables that are designed to smooth the skin and treat wrinkles and fine lines. It’s often used to treat wrinkles around the eyes and mouth, but it can help to increase the volume of your cheeks and lips. Like most dermal fillers, Juvederm uses a naturally-occurring substance called hyaluronic acid that is readily accepted and absorbed by the human body. Hyaluronic acid reduces the signs of aging by stimulating collagen production. Your body’s natural collagen production slows down as you age, so stimulating its production gives you natural-looking results that can last for up to one year. Our Juvederm Ultra products also contain the local anesthetic lidocaine to give you a comfortable and pain-free treatment.

Juvederm Ultra is only one of several products in the Juvederm line. It’s the product that is most often used to treat more severe wrinkles as well as lip augmentation.

Preparing for Your Juvederm Ultra Appointment

The most common complication with Juvederm is bruising, which is a risk with any dermal filler. To reduce the risk of bruising, try to avoid taking medications that can thin your blood one week before your appointment. This includes Aspirin, anti-inflammatory drugs such as Aleve and Motrin, and blood-thinning supplements such as garlic and fish oil. You should also stay away from alcohol for one to two days before your procedure. Applying a cold compress to your face for five to 15 minutes before your procedure can also help restrict blood vessels and prevent bruising.

What to Expect During Your Juvederm Ultra Procedure

A woman’s getting injected.
Drip Med Spa can perform your procedure in our office. The procedure itself takes anywhere from 15 minutes to one hour depending on your treatment area and the results you wish to achieve. Most procedures take less than an hour.
The Juvederm filler is injected under the skin in the treatment area using a fine needle. Our Juvederm Ultra products contain lidocaine, a local anesthetic similar to novocaine. This will numb the area being treated in as little as a few seconds to ensure maximum comfort and a pain-free procedure.

After the Procedure

Juvederm Ultra injections are provided as an outpatient procedure, so unlike other more invasive cosmetic operations, there is very little downtime after your procedure. Most of our patients can resume their normal activities immediately after having the procedure, although you may want to avoid doing anything too strenuous right away. You should also avoid touching or massaging the treated area for the first day after the procedure.
You may experience some swelling after your Juvederm procedure is complete. This is totally normal and will go away within 24 to 48 hours. For the first two weeks after your procedure, avoid too much exposure to heat and cold. Wear sunscreen on your face if you spend a lot of time outdoors, and avoid products that contain alcohol.
You should start seeing your final results about two weeks after your treatment. These results will last between 90 days and one year, although some treatments can be effective for up to 18 months.

Possible Complications

Although Juvederm Ultra is safe and relatively pain-free, no medical procedure is without risk. Side effects of receiving this treatment may include redness, swelling, and tenderness around the injection site. These side effects are mild and will usually go away within 48 hours. There is also a risk of infection and the possibility of an allergic reaction to the lidocaine in the filler, although this is rare.
Overall, Juvederm Ultra has been shown to be safe and effective for just about anybody, particularly patients in their 20s, 30s, and 40s. There are some cases when it is wise to postpone your treatment, though. For example, those with a sinus infection should wait until the infection goes away before the treatment can proceed. Those with excessive scarring or hyperpigmentation in the face should also reconsider treatment as the procedure can make these issues worse. Finally, anyone who has shown to be allergic to lidocaine should not undergo this treatment.

What Is IV Therapy and Why Do You Need It?

A woman in a chair wearing a white robe getting IV therapy from a nurse.

Do you find yourself tired and lethargic more often these days? Maybe you’ve tried everything to improve your health and wellness, but nothing seems to work. Fortunately, at Drip Med Spa, we’ve got the solution to your problems—in a bag!

IV therapy is a great way to give your body the fuel it needs to function at its best every day. Whether you want to feel more energized, improve your metabolism, help your hair and skin be at its best, or even get over that weekend hangover, our Drip IV Therapies are just what you need.

What Is IV Therapy?

IV therapy, also called intravenous therapy, is when medication, fluids, nutrients, hydration, or more are delivered directly into your bloodstream through a needle or catheter. This type of administration allows for immediate absorption since it bypasses the digestive system and goes directly to the organs.

If you were to take vitamins every morning, you’d probably experience an absorption rate of about 50%. IV therapy, on the other hand, gets absorbed at a much higher rate—90%!

How Does IV Therapy Work?

IV therapy is a pretty straightforward process: you will be seated somewhere comfortable, and a healthcare professional (usually a nurse) will disinfect the injection site and insert the catheter. If you’re afraid of needles, rest assured, you’ll only feel a slight discomfort initially.

The needle is usually placed in the arm but can be placed elsewhere. Once the IV is inserted, the nurse will periodically check the pump to ensure the correct rate of delivery. Remember that you need to keep still during IV therapy, so you don’t risk dislodging anything! You can feel free to use your phone, read, or do anything else stationary to pass the time, though. Each session lasts for roughly 45 to 60 minutes.

Botox 101: Everything First-Time Users Need to Know

Botox is the most popular cosmetic treatment in the United States, with 4.4 million procedures performed in the last year alone. Despite this, people still have a lot of fear, confusion, and questions about Botox. If you’re interested in Botox, but you’re not sure if it’s the best choice for you, keep reading! We’ve got the answers to your most asked Botox questions right here.

What Is Botox and How Does It Work?

Botox injections are a cosmetic treatment most notably used to reduce the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines. The injections use a toxin called onabotulinumtoxinA to relax the muscles around wrinkles, which makes the skin look more youthful. If the word toxin concerns you, don’t worry—Botox injections have been approved by the FDA since 2002.

Botox is traditionally used for crow’s feet around the eyes, horizontal lines on the forehead, and wrinkles between the eyebrows. It can also be used for brow lifts, and to enhance the fullness of your lips

Wrinkles are formed by contractions of the muscles under the skin. During the procedure, very small amounts of the botulinum toxin will be injected into the targeted muscles. Once injected, it relaxes and loosens the muscles. The lesser your muscles contract, the fewer wrinkles will be formed.

Frequently Asked Questions About Botox

It’s always good to do your research before going “under the knife”—or, in this case, the needle. Fortunately, we’ve got all of it in one place. Here are the answers to all your questions about Botox, even the ones you’re afraid to ask.

Does Botox Prevent Future Wrinkles?

Absolutely. Botox injections use highly purified toxins that are injected directly into the muscles. This has the benefit of temporarily erasing or reducing forehead wrinkles, frown or smile lines, and crow’s feet, but it also works to prevent the formation of new lines and wrinkles.

Will My Face Look Frozen or Unnatural?

This is a common question people have, and while it is possible, it won’t happen with an experienced medical professional. Botox is designed to soften lines and leave you looking more youthful and refreshed, not to freeze your muscles. The danger, however, arises when you inject more botox than your muscles need. The Botox treatment experts at Drip Med Spa will assess your current conditions and needs so we can get you those perfect results you dream of!

Does It Hurt?

It depends on each person’s individual pain tolerance, but Botox injections are usually on the smaller side, so the pain is minimal. It can be slightly painful between the eyebrows, but the pain doesn’t last long. If needed, you can get ice packs or numbing cream to numb the area 10 minutes before the procedure.

Is There Any Downtime?

You can return to your daily activities immediately after the procedure. At most, some people may feel mild discomfort, and patients on medication that contain aspirin or NSAIDs might notice pinpoint blue bruising. Results will usually begin to show around four to five days after the treatment. These results will slowly continue to develop over the next two weeks.

What Should I Avoid Doing After the Procedure?

While there is no downtime, it’s best to take certain precautions following the treatment. This is to ensure that the injected substance doesn’t spread to other areas near the muscle(s).

  • Do not massage or rub the injected areas.
  • You can apply makeup directly after the procedure, but take care not to press or rub the makeup in.
  • Avoid physical activity for a minimum of two hours. If possible, don’t lift heavy items, perform difficult workouts, or engage in any other strenuous physical activity for 24 hours.

Will Everyone Know That I’ve Gotten Botox?

This answer is both yes and no. Botox leaves you looking fresher and more rested, and although it can make you look younger, it doesn’t change your face. It’s much easier to tell when a Botox job has been done badly than when it’s done well. Ultimately, what matters most is if you’re happy with your treatment and the way you look and feel.

What Are the Side Effects of Botox?

Like every drug, botox does have side effects—but they’re rare, and tend to be mild and temporary. In fact, the FDA noted only 36 cases of adverse effects from Botox in a span of 14 years.

The potential side effects of Botox include redness, swelling, soreness, and bruising. Some rare side effects are slight drooping of the eyelid or eyebrow (goes away within two weeks) and mild headaches, which also resolve in some time.

When Is the Best Time to Start Using Botox?

There’s no timeline on Botox—it entirely depends on you. You can use Botox to reduce your wrinkles or use it preventatively. Botox is a safe procedure regardless of age, so it ultimately depends on how you feel. All that matters is that you first get a consultation with an expert before starting any treatment.

How Long Does Botox Last?

Every individual is different, so this answer varies as well. In general, the results from Botox can last for three to six months from the date of injection. Over time the body will metabolize the Botox, at which point they can have the treatment again. Some people get treatments every three months, while others have them every four to six months.

At Drip Med Spa, MD, we want you to feel happy, healthy, and confident in your body. That’s why our Botox treatments always start with an in-depth consultation—to get to know you, your concerns, desires, expectations, and aesthetic dreams.

We’ll work through your options to find the perfect treatment for you, so if you’re looking to rejuvenate and enhance your face, get in touch! Call us at (443) 660-9734 or contact us online to get started.

How Dermal Fillers Can Benefit Your Appearance

Woman smiling and looking into a mirror.

Wrinkle fillers can give you a more youthful appearance for a fraction of the cost of a traditional facelift. Most treatments take less than 30 minutes, and the results can last anywhere from four months to nearly a year!

You can also use fillers to plump and lift cheekbones, chins, jawlines, eyebrows, and even sagging hands. The procedure is quick and easy. However, all wrinkle fillers carry the risk of side effects, including the possibility of an allergic reaction. Could you benefit from dermal fillers? To help you decide if this procedure is right for you, here are five things that you should consider.

Important Facts About Dermal Fillers

1. The benefits of dermal fillers extend beyond wrinkles!

While dermal fillers are commonly referred to as “wrinkle fillers,” they are capable of so much more! The following are a few common problems that dermal fillers can help with:

  • Restoring volume to sunken cheeks and temples
  • Smoothing lines around the nose and mouth
  • Improving facial symmetry
  • Ridding your chin of creases
  • Plumping and defining your lips

2. Dermal fillers come in a variety of options

The various dermal fillers are designed to combat different signs of aging. Drip Med Spa, we use dermal fillers that contain hyaluronic acid. Today, hyaluronic acid is the most commonly used dermal filler on the market because of its moisturizing, volume-enhancing, and elasticity-enhancing properties.

Dermal fillers we offer at Drip Med Spa include:

Dysport

Many experts in the field of cosmetic dermatology have observed Dysport’s benefits. In addition to giving the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines a magical, almost immediate improvement, it is also used as a prescription treatment for a variety of other conditions.

In addition to jaw-pronouncing treatments, Dysport can also treat excessive sweating in the armpits (also known as axillary hyperhidrosis) and reduce the appearance of neck cords. It is also a popular option for slimming the face by injecting it into the masseter muscle to decrease its size.

Here are a few other benefits of Dysport:

  • Reduces the appearance of Glabellar lines
  • Prevents new wrinkles from forming
  • Reduces wrinkles and fine lines
  • Provides natural-looking results almost immediately

Juvederm

FDA-approved Juvederm Ultra filler injectables are used for cosmetic purposes to reduce creases and wrinkles on the face.

With one treatment of Juvederm Ultra Plus, you can achieve optimal results that will last between 9 and 18 months. Results will also be dependent on how concentrated the treatment is since higher concentrations of hyaluronic acid will result in a longer-lasting effect.

Additionally, Juvederm Ultra products contain lidocaine, a local anesthetic. Within seconds, it numbs the area being treated. There are numerous Juvederm products available to meet the specific needs of clients and address specific areas of the face, contact us today to find the right version for you.

Restylane

Currently, it is the only FDA-approved hyaluronic acid filler for your face and hands. This filler adds natural-looking volume to your cheeks and hands. As a result, your face and hands will appear smoother and plumper.

Restylane Lyft is a hyaluronic acid filler that is safe and dissolvable. A great benefit about this type of filler is that you can have it applied to your cheeks and hands during the same appointment.

RHA

The RHA® Collection of hyaluronic acid fillers is the only FDA-approved collection of hyaluronic acid fillers for dynamic folds and wrinkles. The active ingredient in RHA® is hyaluronic acid. However, since it’s manufactured differently, RHA® isn’t like other HA dermal fillers. This product has a gentle manufacturing process. The natural structure of the HA is preserved during this process, allowing it to replicate the structure of HA found in your skin. RHA® is the latest evolution in HA filler technology, with the ability to perform in the most dynamic areas of the face without looking stiff or unnatural.

3. A dermal filler is not the same as an injectable.

These are the key differences between fillers and injectables:

Injectables: A cosmetic injectable such as Botox stops creases and wrinkles by freezing muscles. They often appear around the eyes and on the forehead.

Dermal Fillers: A dermal filler enhances or plumps areas where volume or smoothness has been lost. In general, they are used to treat wrinkles around the mouth, thin lips, and sagging cheeks. They can also be used to smooth out forehead wrinkles, scars, and other areas that require more volume.

Longevity: The effects of cosmetic injectables last about three to four months. Based on the type of filler that is used, dermal fillers can last anywhere between four months and a year.

4. Not all providers and fillers are the same.

As with selecting a provider for a surgical procedure, selecting an injectable provider requires research and scrutiny. To ensure a safe and effective non-surgical filler treatment, specific training, skill, and knowledge are required. Providers of fillers should have in-depth knowledge of facial anatomy, a skilled aesthetic eye, as well as precision and skill.

At Drip Med Spa, we are proud to have Mary Tatar RN, BSN, our certified nurse injector. Mary has been a registered nurse for 43 years, specializing in Botox, HA fillers, and skincare. She has worked in some of Baltimore’s most well-known practices. Mary is a fantastic addition to the team! Come in for a consultation and learn how Mary can enhance your beauty and confidence!

5. As with any procedure, there are risks to consider.

It is always important to discuss with your physician the risks associated with a procedure and so you can feel good knowing you are making a well-educated decision. Dermal fillers are considered safe, effective options for age-related concerns, and rarely cause severe complications. However, some of the rare side effects associated with dermal fillers include:

  • Exacerbations of the skin that resemble acne
  • Asymmetry
  • Bleeding from the injection site
  • Mild bruising
  • A wound or possible scarring
  • Infection at the injection site
  • Rash or skin irritation
  • Swelling

Consult with a professional at Drip Med Spa today to help you understand the benefits and risks, and find the right treatment for you.
